The self-guided tour will takes place annually on the forth weekend in September. Approximately 30 artists, who live or work creatively within New Edinburgh, Ottawa will be opening their studio doors to the public. Locations of the studios will be scattered throughout New Edinburgh and are within walking or biking distance.

NEST offers the public a unique opportunity to encounter professional and emerging local artists in the studios where they work. The aim of the tour is to:

• help build a vibrant arts community in New Edinburgh by connecting participating artists

• engage with the public through a unique behind the scenes look into the artists’ studio space and creative processes

• support participating artists by creating an opportunity to personally discuss and promote their work while selling directly to the public.

Admission to the studio tour is free and everyone is welcome. Artwork will be exhibited and available for sale, and live demonstrations will occur throughout the day.

By visiting each studio you will have the opportunity to win a door prize from each artist on the tour.

Shorelines by Sara Alex Mullen features sandy beaches, rocky coasts and scenic lake and ocean views from BC, Georgian Bay, Ontario and Quebec. This new series balances a neutral palette with controlled bursts of colour. A blend of soft lines and energetic brushstrokes work together to create a slightly different mood than we are used to seeing from the artist. 

Shorelines will be on display from March 2nd to 22nd. Meet the artist and watch her paint live at the gallery Saturday, March 4th from 4 to 6pm.
